Natural round timbers are available from around Tasmania, either direct from the forest or from salvage and treatment yards.

Logs can be processed into other sawn products or used as columns or beams inside houses or industrial buildings. Naturally durable or treated poles and piles are available as telegraph poles, agricultural poles, landscaping elements or piles on sites with poor foundations.
