National Tasmanian Timber Masterclass Series: Book Now

A series of Tasmanian Timber Masterclasses are scheduled to take place in late June in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart. The masterclasses are designed specifically for architects, interior designers, builders and joiners, and will provide information on Tasmanian timber species, their supply, characteristics and product range.

There will be two Masterclasses in each destination, hosted by registered architect and Professor of Architecture and Design, Gregory Nolan. Professor Nolan is also Director of the Centre for Sustainable Architecture with Wood at the University of Tasmania.

“Tasmanian timber is an ideal medium for inspired interior and architectural design and joinery and furniture. The colour range is rich and varied, the timber is stable and highly workable, and sustainable timber supply is certified,” says Greg.

The morning Masterclass ‘Tasmanian Timber for Internal Applications’ is specifically designed for those specifying Tasmanian timber.

“The session will discuss essential detailing and specification practice for major architectural applications.”

The afternoon session ‘Working with Tasmanian Timber’ is specifically designed for anyone working with or installing Tasmanian timber.

“This session will discuss essential aspects of timber storage and handling practice for preparing and assembling major architectural and timber-rich components.”

Each session, which runs for 1.5 hours, is followed by a one-hour networking session with Tasmanian timber suppliers.

Dates for the sessions are as follows:

Hobart: June 22 2018
Brisbane: June 26 2018
Sydney: June 27 2018
Melbourne: June 28 2018
