Broached Goulder - Environmental Custodianship
“There’s an essential environmental custodianship now. So, how do we sustainably use the resources that we have? How do we express through design the most beautiful articulation of those timbers in form, and how do we celebrate the local in a sustainable fashion? We use local because it talks to the story that we’re telling, which is essentially an Australian one.”
— Lou Weis, Broached Commissions
=============================
Commissioned by design trailblazers Broached Commissions, Broached Goulder comprises pieces that meld the complex intricacies of generations of furniture making – proudly made with sustainably sourced Tasmanian timber species. The bespoke collection crafted from Tasmanian Celery-Top Pine and Blackwood includes two credenzas, a chaise lounge, a standing mirror and a console.
Like much of Jon Goulder’s work, the Broached Goulder collection will make its way around the world, with its first stop at the JamFactory in Goulder’s home state for Adelaide Fringe; a not-for-profit festival providing access for all artists to showcase their work.
Broached Goulder is on show at the JamFactory as part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival from Feb 27-May 2, 2020.
