The Technical Helpline is answered by Michael Lee. Michael has over 30 years experience in the timber industry, focusing on quality control, testing, timber technical properties and research, timber production, and systems. He is a Certified Project Professional (CPP), passionate about promoting the correct and sustainable use of timber in the built environment. He works closely with builders, designers and architects to create solutions that benefit the environment, the economy and the community. Michael was the Senior Technical Officer at the Centre for Sustainable Architecture with Wood at the University of Tasmania for 11 years and continues to hold consulting roles with Tasmanian timber processors across Tasmania.
Michael provides technical support on choosing the right timber for the right application and troubleshooting problems throughout or even after a project.
